The Perilous Pirate by mahdesigns is an absolutely breath taking image that encompasses each aspect of design and tends to it rather well. My over all rating for this deviation is only a half a star beneath a perfect five across the board. The only place that I have marked with a half a star less is Impact and that is only because I feel that more emotion could have been placed into the image. I wish I knew how other than perhaps a slightly different pose from the model with a different expression upon her face perhaps.
Aside from that this image is both lively and befitting. There is a darkness to it that really seems to call to the title of the contest "Curse of the High Seas". The scene happening behind her truly does grasp the concept in many numerous ways.
Now down to the technical aspects of this. The blending is done very well, it is very difficult to see where other images have been brought in and where different erasing marks or cutting marks have been placed. The color is all drawn to a central tonality which allows this to be smooth on the eyes and displayed in a very artistic display.
Over all this artist has done well in taking the concept and the main stock choices given to her and really following through.
